My Books

So far, this year, I have started many books. Out of all, i only finished a few. One of the books I abandoned was "Vango." I didn't  abandon it because it was a horrible book, I just didn't like that it was dragged out most of the time. For me, I am kind of an impatient reader, so I didn't like the format of "Vango."
One book that I just finished was "Flyaway" written by Lucy Christopher. I don't want to get too much into the book right now cause I will be writing a separate blog about it, but this book does rank in my top favorite. There are many reasons for that, too. Even though sometimes this book did drag on, there was always meaning to what was going on, and the author wasn't just rambling on about something unimportant. Even though I didn't like the ending of the book, because it kind of leaves off on a cliffhanger, I overall loved the book.

    At first, when I heard about this book, I thought, "what's the big deal? Why does everyone like it so much?" Not only until after I read it, did I realize how great of a book it actually is. This book speaks about things that people should be aware of. Just because it's "inappropriate" does not mean it should not be discussed. People need to be aware of what really could go on in someone's life. Personally, I related to this book. I think that's one of the reasons on why I love it so much. I think my favorite part of the book & the show, was when Clay finally got to his tape. My Name

     My name is pretty unique. Although, it has been mispronounced from time to time. The day I was born, my parents decided to name me "Sumar." The reason my name is unique is not because of the way it is pronounced, but the way it is spelled. I'm pretty sure you guys all think it's pronounced like "su-mar." The funny thing is, my name is supposed to be pronounced "summer" like the season, and also spelled like the season. I guess when I was born, there was a miscommunication and my name was spelled incorrectly on my birth certificate. Although it causes a lot of mix-ups, it's a funny story to tell. It's also from an Arabic origin (or Arabic root) which is pretty cool.
